Oakridge Pioneer Cemetery Cleanup Project

Janice and John Muir (regular cemetery explorers) discovered this site on Bellfountain Road and thought it would be a fun project for our Club to clean it up. It's a small cemetery and won't require a tremendous amount of labor to clean up blackberry vines, leaves, etc., and to uncover headstones that haven't seen the light of day for many years.

Although the weather refused to cooperate, a small but undaunted group scoped out the project, After discussions with the owner, Janice/John Muir, Don Studier, and Andy Caron came up with a plan to proceed and another (better!) day will be chosen to start the work. It is anticipated that one or two days this Winter, followed by one or two in the Spring and one in the Summer should be sufficient. Regular maintenance will be done after that.

One idea is to have Club members "adopt" a grave and be responsible for maintaining it during the year.

Any plans to visit the site must be cleared with the cemetery owner prior to showing up!
